University College London Access Opportunity Scholarship provides the recipient with the following benefits:
- The UCL scholarships will consist of tuition fees and a living allowance of £11,000 per year for the normal duration of your program at University College London.
- Annual renewal of the scholarship is subject to satisfactory academic progress.
Eligibility Criteria for UCL Access Opportunity Scholarship
To qualify for University College London Access Opportunity Scholarship, the candidate must fulfill all of the following requirements below:
Required Language: English
Eligible Countries: All countries
- Holding an offer of a place in a University College London undergraduate program and;
- Hold a full-time undergraduate admissions offer from University College London (UCL) for the 2022–2023 intake;
- Be forced migrants who are based in the UK and have been granted a temporary form of leave as a result of an application for asylum or human rights (e.g., limited leave to remain, discretionary leave to remain, humanitarian protection);
- Be children of asylum seekers, unaccompanied children seeking asylum, or children of asylum seekers who are seeking asylum abroad.
Value, Benefits, and Duration
For the normal term of your degree at University College London (UCL), the scholarship will cover your tuition costs as well as a living expense stipend of £11,000 per year. The scholarship must make good academic progress each year to be renewed.

Types of University College London (UCL) Scholarship Programs
UCL Scholarships for Undergraduate Programs
There are 26 University College London undergraduate scholarships available to new students. Only 8 of these are available to international students as UCL scholarships. These consist of:
- Denys Holland Scholarship (5,000 GBP/year)
- UPC Progression Scholarships (5,000 GBP/year)
- UCL Hong Kong Scholarships Fund (5,000 GBP)
- UPCE Progression Scholarship (5,000 GBP/year)
However, unfortunately, none of the 8 scholarships are available to Indian students commencing their undergraduate studies at UCL.
UCL Scholarships for Postgraduate Programs
Scholarships are available to postgraduate students through University College London in collaboration with businesses like the British Council. International students beginning Ph.D. and master’s programs at University College London are currently eligible for 31 UCL scholarships.
Indian students are only eligible for three scholarship programs out of the 31 available, namely the Commonwealth Scholarships, Commonwealth Shared Scholarships, and British Chevening Scholarships.
The perks of each of these scholarships differ, but they all cover tuition costs as well as a stipend for travel and accommodation in the UK. Details of all these UCL scholarships are given below:
1. Chevening Scholarship:
- The Chevening Scholarship program honors excellent students and future leaders from all around the world and is open to graduate students in both graduate teaching programs and graduate research programs.
- Benefits: The university provides a 20% tuition fee exemption.
- eligibility: a minimum grade point average of 65; IELTS score of 6.5 or higher; 2+ years of professional experience
- Application procedure: Filling out a scholarship application applicable to your nation.
2. Commonwealth UK Scholarships:
- The scholarship program is intended to assist students from Commonwealth countries, including Bangladesh, India, Malaysia, and others.
- Benefits include a thesis award, college tuition, travel costs, and monthly expenditures.
- Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 65 in sciences and 60 in social sciences, be under 40 and be citizens of a Commonwealth scholarship-eligible nation.
- Application procedure: Use the national nominating agency to submit your application.
3. Commonwealth Shared Scholarship:
- Applicable to students starting their master’s degrees in the UK from Commonwealth countries.
- Benefits include tuition, acceptable travel costs, living expenses, and a thesis award.
- Eligibility requirements include having a cumulative GPA of at least 75%, being unsponsored, and being a citizen of a Commonwealth nation like Bangladesh, Pakistan, or India.
- Fill out the Commonwealth Shared Scholarship application before December 18 to start the process.
